US Gov’t To Monitor Voting on Tuesday in 28 States

Washington, DC, Nov. 7 — The U.S. government announced Monday that on Election Day it will devote special attention to monitoring voting in 67 jurisdictions in 28 of the 50 states to guarantee that citizens – particularly minorities – may freely exercise their right to vote. In a statement, the Department of Justice explained that its Civil Rights Division plans on Tuesday to deploy more than 500 of its personnel in the 67 jurisdictions in question to guarantee that the election proceeds smoothly.
